Sick

I wasn't able to do the walk yesterday because I'm sick. It all started as a sore throat and then turned into a cough and is now going into my chest. :( Hopefully tomorrow will be better, but I have to hit the post office tonight.

March For Babies is FAST approaching!

Sunday is the day and I'm looking forward to it. I've been donating since 2002 after Ayden's birth. I hadn't done a walk and really didn't know if I ever would. During the summer of 2007, I learned that an old friend of mine and his wife were expecting twin girls. The day I went into labor, I was talking to Robin (my ex's mom) over IM has I had done everyday leading up to my birthing day. She was acting a bit weird so I knew something was going on and told me there was something going on with Aunt Ruth and she'd tell me later and that they had somewhere they had to be that day and sent me tons of love and well wishes.

Once Dylan was born and we got settled, I got on IM and she told me that Kevin and Renae went to the hospital the week before and found out 1 of the babies had passed so they had to do a c-section. Kiersten was still born and Brooklyn was doing okay. There due date wasn't until December - it was only September. They buried Kiersten the day Dylan was born. That gave the family some peace knowing I was bring a new life into the world when they had to say goodbye. All that day I just looked at my full term + 3 day baby and thanked my lucky stars he was healthy...although it was bitter sweet because I should have given birth to 2 babies. Jesse's say "no, if you should have, the baby would have developed..." but that's another topic.

Brooklyn passed away the Wednesday following Keirsten's service. She got an infection from her vent and her little lungs couldn't fight it. :(

So these little girls are why I'm walking this year, rather than just donating. Please keep them and their parents in your thoughts.

I love yard work!

Yesterday morning I hit Lowes and got some plants and a couple hanging baskets. Then when I got home I planted them, burned some brush in the back yard and starting sawing down some bushes in the front yard. Then the darn chain came off. I'm thinking about moving all my landscaping bricks to the back yard to create a garden and then pick up a Weeping Cherry Tree to plant with Dylan's placenta. So many idea's, not enough time!

Our Weekend Camping

We had our first camp out for the year and it was with the GLPUC. We had an awesome time with beautiful weather and great company. My cousin Steve, his wife Hope and son Justice were at Aunt Barb's so they came over to visit with us. This is the first time Steve and I have ever had a visit without the rest of the family around and it was great. We are very simular and are the black sheep of the family! lol I'm glad to know I have company!

Then on Saturday Jesse's mom and step dad came up for lunch and we got them into the camping mood. They also have a pop up. So we're going to plan a family campout in the coming months.

The kids went on a nature hike with Jesse and came across a large snake. Jesse and I looked it up last night and it was a blue racer. I'm glad I wasn't there!!! Ewwww! I don't like snakes at all unless they are at the zoo or pets.

Fleece + Dylan's Bum = Welted Rash

So it appears that Dylan is now allergic to fleece which makes cloth diapering tricky. Jesse just wants to go back to sposies and I'm frustrated. On top of that, it looks like he allergic to his clothes detergent. So I've switched that to Allen's. We'll see...

It's 70 Degrees!!!!

Spring is here!! We just back from the zoo and had many comments about my large family. Even saw some other baby wearing mama's! The kids had fun and Ashlyn loved running around rather than sitting the stroller. But then she had a melt down. It's so beautiful out!

What a busy week!

Dylan turned 6 months old and cut his first tooth! We could be going to Ireland for 3-6 months. I booked our new Disney vacation for Oct 19-25th at Fort Wilderness. The kids went back to school! YAY!! I've been trying to spring clean and work in the yard, which is hard because it keeps getting really cold or snowing! My foot is finally starting to heal, I had to get antiboditics yesterday and it already looks so much better!
