New Years Eve 2009

Wow, this year flew by! We have a great year and have accomplished so much with the house. We started this year with Ayden starting hockey, the girls in dance, and Dylan being our "baby". March brought an awesome trip to Disney with the St. John family and left Disney with souvenir that arrived on December 8th, our new baby Riley.

The kids have grown so much this year and I'm so thankful for all this craziness! lol Ayden started 2nd grade, Kailey is in 1st, and Ashlyn is in 4's preschool. Dylan is proving he's 2 everyday with his tantrums. Even though Riley has been a huge adjustment for him, he shows the love for his new brother with hugs and kisses and gets upset when Riley's crying. Riley is 3 weeks 2 days old and is more alert and loves watching everything. He's growing too fast.

To finish out the year, Jesse just got a raise. It isn't the greatest, but in this economy we can't complain, but I know he will just on principle. lol He's also schedule for his vesectomy on January 22. I wish we didn't have to do it, but I'm done, he's done, but it's just scary to close that chapter.

We have lots of plans for the new year. Lots of home improvements planned and hopefully we'll be able to do them all. First on the list is new furniture and a TV. I'm also looking forward to the 3 Day for a Cure in August, but I'm starting to worry about donations. Michigan isn't a good place for fundraising. We'll worry about that when I the time is closer.

Happy New Year everyone!!

Lots of stuff today

I need to clean my house top to bottom, but I'm thinking I may stay home on New Year's Day to clean. We're all suppose to be going to Jesse's Mom's for Christmas. I see staying home a great way to take advantage of no one being here and getting a lot done. The house hasn't been completely cleaned since Thanksgiving. Jesse wants me to go though.

I'm working on getting into the shower to go get Riley's birth certificate done and then his social security card. Luckily I don't have to take him to the county offices, but I think I'll need him for the card since I only have an insurance card and birth certificate. Maybe a perscription will do? I need to check their website.

Sick kiddos and hubby.

Jesse took Dylan last week because he was the worse out of the four kids. He has bronchitis and our doctor gave us meds for all the kids. Riley wasn't sick yet, but now he is. Jesse took him to the walk in this morning. His throat is bright red, he's coughing, his eye/tear duct is infected (he has a clogged tear duct), and his belly button is infected. His cord stump came off early just like the other kids did, and he had an umbilical granuloma. So his belly button has had ongoing issues from the start. So that's the scoop for now.

My present...

for my birthday, Christmas, Valentines, Anniversary, & Sweetest Day. We replaced the diamond with a 1.01kt and traded in my .65kt, wrap, and anniversary band. I can't wait until the mounting is finished. I'll get it back on the 9th.

My Grades

I got a C+ in Government that I'm so not happy about. But Ayden had the stomach bug 2 weeksn before finals and Riley was born the week before. So I guess I should be happy with it, but I'm not. So I'll probably retake the class. I did get a B in Philosophy though! **Happy Dance!!**

Christmas Eve 2009

It's Christmas Eve again and I have everything I've ever wanted. Even though Ayden, Kailey, Ashlyn, and Dylan are sick and cranky with bronchitis and Riley is coughing and throwing up occasionally...this is everything I ever hoped for. Jesse is even cranky because he's been getting up the kids since I'm nursing Riley all night long.

I have some cleaning to do tonight and tons of wrapping. Hopefully the kids will fall asleep fast so I can get to it. Plus Jesse has my Christmas present in his car and I can't wait to guess it! LOL And I think he said he's donating 180.00 to my walk for Christmas as well. I got 10.00 from Jesse's mom for my birthday to go towards my walk and she's giving me more for Christmas.

Jesse got a raise today at work. It's not much, but I guess we can't complain with our crappy economy here in Michigan. And with 5 kids, anything helps. Next on our agenda is clothes shopping for us and furniture. Jesse's bonus is coming up. I can't wait!

Riley's Birth Timeline

I haven't written out the nitty gritty of his birth story, but I have a timeline!! It was a lot of fun and lots of laughter throughout.

12/7/09:

  • 5:30am – Couldn’t sleep, took a hot bath and when getting out, I had a small gush followed by more plug. Went up stairs and told Jesse I thought my water may have broke. Went back into the bathroom and had some light bleeding and contractions started getting stronger.
  • 7:00am – I called our midwife to let her know what was going on. She told me to call her back when I was rocking, humming, all that stuff, I told her I didn't think it would be that long.
  • 9:00am – Jesse called his mom to put her on notice, she took it to come right over! I was going back and forth with Jesse about her coming too soon. Shortly after she arrived my labor stalled and contractions stayed 12 minutes apart all day long.
  • 9:30 pm – Mother in law left.
  • 10:00pm – Contractions got stronger/closer and I knew it was it. Jesse timed them for a little bit, first ones were 7 minutes but quickly moved to 4 minutes apart and they were lasting 2 minutes.
  • 11:20pm – Called Kate to come over. The few contractions I had were extremely intense with lots of pressure and left me shaking afterward.

12/8/09:

  • 12:10am – Kate arrived and came up to check me.
  • 12:20am - As she was checking me, my cervix kept dilating, I started off at 5 and by the time she was done, I was a 7cm and 100% effaced, baby at -2 station with a bulging bag of water. Contractions were 4 minutes apart at this point.
  • 1:15ish – I got into the pool.
  • 1:36am – I asked Kate to break my water because it was in the way and I could feel it with every contraction. I tried a few times to break it on my own with pushes, but it didn’t work. My water was stained with meconium. Riley came right down and I was ready to push.
  • 1:37am – I started pushing.
  • 1:47am – Riley’s head crowned.
  • 1:49am – Riley Aaron was born!

Happy Birthday!

Today is mine and Ayden's birthday. Jesse took Ayden to the Red Wings game last night and I got him a Michigan Chillers book which he took to the game knowing he's probably get bored during some of it. I took him, and Dylan, to their first games in 07, so he knew what to expect. As for me, I'll probably not even get a card from Jesse. There's nothing particular I'd like as a gift, but he could atleast try to surprise me with something.

Jesse's Appt is scheduled.

He's getting broken the end of January. It's a relief and sad at the same time. My child-bearing years are over and I turn 30 on Friday. Seems like a lot to take in right now...December isn't a really holly jolly month for me emotionally, so that doesn't help.

Stalled

That's what I think happened. But my back doesn't hurt as bad.

40 weeks pregnant

And in early labor! Well, I have back labor since he's posterior still. But I'm 3cm dilated and Kate says I won't be pregnant by Sunday. So right now I'm sitting with the heating pad on and having some contractions. My legs even hurt, it's so crazy! I foresee lots of hot baths in my future.

December 1, 2009

Yesterday I had my 39w appointment with Kate. Riley was posterior, head down, sitting indian style. I managed to get him to move, but now my pubic bone is killing me and I lost lots of plug this morning. And Ayden is throwing up, so I'll probably go into labor soon.
