Last Day of School

The 2012-2013 school year is coming to an end today.  And for the first time in a long time, I'm excited about it!  It's been a tough year for Kailey and Ashlyn, the adjustment from the different curriculum has been very hard; for all of us!  After today, I'll have a 1st grader, 3rd grader, 5th grader, and 6th grader - MIDDLE SCHOOL!  How in the world did that happen!?

Kailey just finished her 7th year dancing.  Next year she'll be in Ensemble (a new name for performing class which she's been in for 3 years already) tap, jazz, and hip hop, she'll audition for TEAM again this year, and she's working on her grades so she can audition for Company.  Miss Dori said she's a good candidate, so we told Kailey that and I hope it's more motivation for her.

Ayden will be moving over to Novi hockey.  Kensington Valley was a joke and the coaches didn't teach him anything new.  He'll also be in band in middle school - I'm sure once we get his instrument, it's going to be loud in here!  We also just got his mouth completely braced and he's teeth look amazing!

Ashlyn has decided to dance again, so she'll be doing tap.  She's already claimed a pair of Kailey's tap shoes.  She's very excited.  Ashlyn turned 8 on Tuesday and we threw her a surprise party, and she was very surprised!  It was great!  We had all the neighbors at the pool and cabana and we had a great time!

Dylan's meds have been adjusted and things have been really good with him.  We were thinking about holding him back at school, but once we saw his progress (once he was on the correct meds) and realized he caught up with the rest of the class, we knew it was best to go onto 1st grade.

Riley is a bugger butt and not very interested in potty training.  So instead of preschool in the fall, I'll think he'll go to a childcare facility twice a week with our neighbors girls.  He also likes to dance, but he has to be potty trained for that.

Kailey is slated to start her "mouth project" July 13th.  Ugh.

I had surgery on the 4th to have my gall bladder removed.  I started having attack in November, but I had one on the 1st and decided to drive myself to the hospital.  I had an utrasound done and I had stones.  They released me because the surgeons were very busy.  I ended up going back on the 2nd because I was very uncomfortable and vomiting.  I was admitted to observation for the night.  On the 3rd the hospital lost power and the surgeon came in to talk to me and we scheduled the removal for the next morning since they couldn't do the surgery without power.  So on the 4th I got sleepy meds in my IV and they did a laparscopic surgery.  3 incisions on my upper stomach and one in my belly button for the camera.  The surgery or recover wasn't that bad, but the CO2 to inflate my stomach is painful!  I still have a pocket in my rib cage.

I think this is the end of my blog

It's been a great outlet for me in the early days, but now I don't post or keep it updated.   Over the past 6 months I've learned that I'm not super mom - or even the best mom I thought I was years ago.  I feel reminded a lot that I'm not doing all the things for my family that I *could* be doing.  And yet, it's coming from those who DON'T have a large family.

I'm not trying to be super mom.  I only know how to cook a few items from scratch - I guess that's the price you pay for having a mother who became a mom at 16 and again at 18 and then her mother committed suicide before teaching her how to cook and to be an adult.

I'm not perfect, I don't claim to be.  Just when I think I have it all together, I drop the ball.  My goal has been to be better than my mother, I'm almost certain I failed, though I'm not an alcoholic and I actually love my kids.  I guess that's something.

Maybe I'll come back to this one day.

Mommy and Riley Time!

The kids started 5th, 4th, 2nd, and Kindergarten on September 6th.  Everyone is doing well so far, Dylan is still trying to get better at his writing his name.  Kailey is trying to remember division and her multiplication, apparently she doesn't remember learning it.  It's been really nice to be home with Riley.  He acts so different when the kids aren't home.  We've been having so much fun together!

Stuff

So we moved into our new house on July 13th.  I'm not use to having space and it is easier to keep clean.  Everyone has their own rooms, the dining room is my scrap room, the basement is huge!  We not have a deep freezer and a GE awesome french door/pull out drawer freezer.  LOVE it!  It's been fun stocking up of freezer items an we already need to order another quarter cow.  We ordered one in April and it's almost gone.  Costco trips are more expensive now though.

The kids start school in 3 weeks and man, I can't wait!  The first two weeks we lived here, they couldn't go on the sod and were still in the "making friends" stage.  It was a little hard because the kids here don't come out to play until 2ish.  The kids are use to going to their friends houses at 10am and not coming home until dinner.  We all miss that!

Dylan didn't handle the move at all.  He started having tantrums again, and he became violent and acting out in every way possible.  He's been put on meds and things are a little better, but not great by any means.  He's going to a behavioral therapist the week of THANKSGIVING!  It's the next available appointment.

Riley just got over having Hand-Foot-Mouth disease, I forgot how horrible that is!  On top of that he had two ear infections.  He handled the move very well, I was surprised how well.  He's even sleeping in his bed rather than on the floor.

Due to Dylan's behavior, I decided to put my apprenticeship on hold.  It's the best thing for now, but I can focus of studying.

Tomorrow is our 11th anniversary, no plans.

Mom and I went to The Henry Ford yesterday to see the Titanic Exhibit.  Jesse and I saw it in 2000 and it was amazing then and it's still amazing.

2013 Disney dates - October 27 - November 2.  My mom is coming and we're hoping for free dining.

Day 10!

Our house is coming together nicely!  The inside is cleaned up, and they marked the floor where the cabinets, toilets, etc. will go and the shingles are finished!  I think the window's and exterior doors should next.

A Scary Day on I96!

The day started off with Ashlyn staying home because of a low grade fever and cough. Riley also had a low grade this morning and running nose.

They were leveling our lot out today, getting ready to start framing the house. So we went to South Lyon. Everything was fine, we had lunch and watched the build equipement do their thing.

Got on 96, past all the construction and I started hearing a funning noise from Riley. Looked in my rear view mirror and he was having a seizure. I was in the fast lane, pulled over 3 lanes, stopped, got out and got in his door and he was still seizing. I jumped in and started talking to him and he finally stopped seizing. I unbuckled him and he was so out of it and limp and I called 911. The guy on the other line was an ASS! I started the phone call with "my 2yr old just had a seizure, I'm on EB I96 just before the Wixom RD exist on the side of the road". He then proceded to ask me a million and ten questions about my location. Then some lady got on the line and was telling me what to do during a seizure and I kept telling her he's not seizing anymore. She asked if he was breathing, which was relavent, I told her his breathing was fine. Then she told me not to do CPR.

Anyway, EMS and Fire arrive and it's obvious he had a fever. So we take Riley, Ashlyn and Dylan into the EMS truck and Riley's fever was 103 and paulse was 174. She gave me the option of started and IV or not, but because the fever and heart rate was so high, I thought it would be a good idea in case he seized again.

Got to the hospital, he got a popsicle, motrin, boogie swab, X-Ray, clean catch urine and blood draw. I actually got just a tiny bit of crap for not vax'ing. The blood draw was to make sure it was bacterial (one of the vaccines covers this, cocle something...) and then he took a nap on my chest. ::lurve

The tests came back as positive for RSV and the Flu! The seizure was febrile and the first time we've ever experienced one. The dr said it's not common to have both RSV and the Flu. So he's on a Motrin/Tylenol regiment and Tamiflu. He will be sleeping my bed room today and I won't be sleeping much. He's acting fine and playing with the kids now. I do plan on having a good cry still. Scared the crap outta me!

Placenta Encapsulation

I decided to offer placenta encapsulation and today I'm dehydrating my first placenta!  It's from a birth over the weekend that Kate and I were at.  It's a little stinky cooking it up, but not too horible.

Christmas Eve - Magic Kingdom

FYI - Christmas Eve Day in the Magic Kingdom is insane; but we still had a great time!

Riley's 1st Hair Cut at the Harmony Barber Shop!

I thought it was fitting for Riley to have his 1st hair cut at the Harmony Barber Shop on Main Street USA in Magic Kingdom!

The family watching Riley get his hair cut.

Remember when I mentioned I would regret the blue Mickey ears??  Well, the hair cut costs 23.00 and INCLUDED the black Mickey ears with "First Haircut" embroidered on the back!

Downtown Disney with Mary!! - December 23rd

We met with Mary, a childhood friend of mine for dinner at Downtown Disney.  Of course, no pictures of me or Mary! LOL

Outside an Irish Pub, they were doing Irish jigs and were inviting kids to do them as well.  Out of all the kids, Dylan went up to do it!

The kids at the pin shop!

We had a great time with Mary and my kids love her!  They can't wait to see her again too!

Day 60

So, they were suppose to dig this week.  Yesterday they dug lot 67 who purchased just before we did.  Today the equipment was on our lot but not running, they were still working on 67.  At 3pm I noticed it was raining, so the kids and I went back out there to see if they started or not.  They didn't, but the back hoe was still on our lot (yesterday they loaded it up and took it out at the end of the night) with no one around.  Also, 2 Egress windows are now on our lot, I assume for 67 and ours.  So I'm REALLLLLLY hoping they dig tomorrow.  I guess we'll see.

Hollywood Studios - December 22nd

I don't know what we did on the 21st, maybe my dates are off?
Anyway, we went to Hollywood Studios.

We finally made it on Toy Story Mania!  And let us tell you, it's not worth a 90 minute wait!!!  If you've been on Buzz Lightyear, you've been on Toy Story Mania sans the 3d!

We also made in on the Backstage Tour which we've never done before.  It was neat.

Then it was time for Phineas and Ferb.  Dylan seemed pretty excited to see them.

But he chickened out when the time came to see them...

...but he decided to see them. LOL

Dylan had no problems seeing Mater or Lightning McQueen!

I don't think I've seen my boy smile so much as he did while in Disney.

Ayden, Kailey, Ashlyn, and I went on Rockin' Rollercoaster!  It was Kailey, Ashlyn, and my first time on it and we had a blast!!  The only part that was bad, was the wait and when we got to the rollercoaster, we all had a go to the bathroom and they don't have any bathrooms up there! LOL

The Flu

Yesterday I was kicked in the head by the flu!  It was terrible and I missed prenatals yesterday.  :(  Luckily I had Tylenol 4's for my foot, so I was able to keep by body aches and migraines bearable.
