My AMAZING Weekend!

Wednesday night I left for Walkerville, MI for the AAMI Midwifery Skills Lab. There was a wonderful group of ladies in attendence and I learned so much!

Things I've learned or tried again:

Palpation

Fetal Heart Tones

Vaginal Exam

Urine Catheterization (on a model)

Blood pressure

Blood draw

IV (on a dummy hand)

Gave a shot

Sutured a turkey drum - need MORE work!

Shown how to do a PAP

Gauge blood loss - DEFINITELY need more work!

I'm sure I'm missing some things. AND for once I wasn't the freak with 5 kids! There were people there with 18 brothers and sisters, 8 or 9? kids and 12 kids and another one with 10 or 11 brothers and sisters! I felt at home!! I'll post some pictures when I get a minutes. Dylan was searching through the cabinet for something.
